Enables students to develop the depth of creative and analytical skills necessary for performance at an advanced level. Students are required to display academic and professional skills of a standard necessary for entry to a higher degree program and/or principal roles in industry.
ObjectivesOn completion of this course, students should be able to: 1 Develop and articulate individual concepts relevant to a studio specialisation 2 To gain appropriate knowledge and skills through research and experimentation 3 Display an ability to develop and write research proposals, methodology and referencing appropriate to their specialist visual communication study 4 Develop appropriate research writing, documentation and presentation standards 5 Display an awareness of trends of contemporary professional practice and ethical standards 6 Document theoretical material in a scholarly manner 7 Demonstrate a command of research skills and methodology appropriate for entry performance into a higher degree. | ||
ContentThe content of the program will vary from year to year depending on the number of students, their specific interests and the availability of staff. Topics may include: 1 research methodology 2. research writing skills 3. the documentation of professional and practical methodology 4. trends of contemporary professional practice and ethical standards 5. dissertation and seminar preparation and presentation. | ||
