Builds upon traditional photographic knowledge and introduces digital imaging theory and practice. It aims to equip the student with the knowledge and ability to visually communicate via computer technology. This forms the nucleus of contemporary design practice.
| Objectives | On successful completion of this module, students will be able to: 1 Identify and analyse various image capturing and digitising techniques; 2 Calculate scanning resolution using appropriate formulas in relation to outputting processes; 3 Recognise and utilise various sensotemetric, monochromatic and chromogenic mechanisms within the digital darkroom; 4 Collage images, text, and illustrative works using appropriate digital technology; 5 Design a body of work for print and electronic publication; 6 Research and critically evaluate information, ideas, and trends within the design profession. |
