The specialist discipline of Graphic Design requires strong 2D design skills with both type and image. Thematic studio production from the client brief through conceptual thinking culminating in finished production provides a project based platform for students to apply practical and analytical skills. Particular attention is given to design for print based media. Students are introduced to design studio business practices.
| Objectives | On the successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Provide creative solutions to a given design brief 2.Develop visual problem solving strategies 3. Recognise the role of traditional and contemporary graphic media in the production of design solutions 4. Assimilate image and text in a variety of graphic design contexts 5. Display an awareness of business practices in the graphic design studio context 6. Resolve creative proposals into finished presentation |
