This course requires students to apply knowledge of design principles and processes to solve design problems. Critical analysis and analytical thinking are applied through experiment and with materials and equipment to develop understanding of applied design solutions. Presentation skills are an important part of project based learning mode.
ObjectivesOn successful completion of the course, students will be able to: 1. Apply design principles via the project based learning mode 2. Demonstrate the ability to present design solutions using an enhanced visual vocabulary 3. Apply an understanding of research methodology in the studio based context 4. Recognise the role of traditional and contemporary design production processes 5. Apply a range of media to the solution of design problems 6. Recognise the roles played by various specialist in a multidisciplinary design context | |||
