Introduces students to the role of the designer in today's society and examines the role of the designer from professional and interrelated philosophical viewpoints. Environmental issues and aspects of professional practice are developed. Students are encouraged to develop ethical, historical, social, technical concepts and other aspects that inform their design world through an introduction to research methods.
