Aims to teach basic visual communication skills, building a knowledge of principles, materials and equipment and an understanding of the visual communication profession.
| Objectives | On completion of this module, students should be able to: 1 demonstrate an understanding of basic design elements and principles; 2 exhibit a developing visual vocabulary; 3 display basic skills in layout, lettering and typography; 4 to communicate using the specific language of the visual communication profession. 5 to safely use, care and maintain art equipment. |
