Provides students with the skills, knowledge and ability to create a studio-based television program. Students learn how to design both editorial and technical content for the multi-camera studio environment. This may include segments produced in the field to be played back within the studio environment. Emphasis in this course is placed on student group collaboration providing the opportunity to experience various studio production roles when completing assessment exercises and group-initiated projects.
In order to participate in this course, students must complete a compulsory Workplace Health and Safety requirement. Students will receive full information on this Compulsory Course Component in the course outline provided by the school.
| Objectives | At the successful completion of this course, students will have: 1. Developed skills, knowledge and understanding of studio-based, television production practices by allowing students to experience different production roles during group exercise and group projects. 2. Have been encouraged in the development and critical analysis of original ideas for both editorial content and aesthetic techniques within the multi-camera studio environment. 3. An understanding of how the creative process can be both social and individual, and how the creative process is developed through learning new skills and knowledge which are reproduced through practice. 4. To develop effective and articulate communication skills when negotiating a multi-camera group production. |

| Assumed Knowledge | CMNS1230 Foundations of Media Production, CMNS1004 Media Production: Video. It will be assumed that students can demonstrate an ability to develop short video content, utilise single camera production techniques used in the field and can edit using non-linear software. | ||||||||
