Allows students to develop the basic skills and knowledge required in public relations practice through lectures, workshops and group work. Considers the social, organisational, administrative, cultural and ethical context and implications of modern public relations practice.
| Objectives | At the successful completion of this course, students will have: 1. Developed the basic skills involved in public relations practice. 2. Developed critical and creative thinking skills that relate to public relations projects which pose real issues. 3. Developed an understanding of key issues in contemporary public relations. 4. Developed an appreciation of the social, cultural, and organisational contexts of public relations practice and the role of the public relations practitioner within these contexts. |
