Participation is assessed on the basis of active and positive involvement in the subject, demonstrating steady progress within its framework, complying with workload expectations and submitting required work on time. These include a participation component. The Department believes that assessment procedures especially at third year level should target both written and oral presentation skills. Therefore, the seminar may involve a component incorporating performance, the facilitation of a group project or other activity which requires the student to demonstrate an understanding of face-to-face presentation skills. In order to pass the subject, students are expected to show proficiency in both written and oral modes of presentation.
