Builds on Acting 1 offering further experiential study in the craft of the actor with particular emphasis on the system of actor training known as bio-mechanics.

Objectives 1. To provide an enriched understanding of contemporary acting practice and the principles which continue to shape it.
2. To introduce a physicalized approach to creative theatre and dramatic texts.
3. To develop the connexion between body and imagination and its extension into practice.
4. To further develop inter-personal and collaborative skills.
Content Classes will focus on the actor training techniques known as bio-mechanics and the extension of these skills into performance.
Replacing Course(s) DRAM2710 Acting 2.
Transition Students who have successfully completed DRAM2710 Acting 2 may not enrol into CAPA2710 Acting 2.

Group/tutorial participation and contribution Active participation in all assigned exercises and tasks: 40%
Participation is assessed on the basis of active and positive involvement in the course, demonstrating steady progress within its framework, complying with workload expectations and submitting required work on time. Recommended reading will be available before the class commences, and supplemented during its progress.
Journal Ongoing preparation and its documentation: 30%
The maintenance of a logbook/diary of the exercises and tasks assigned. The logbook should demonstrate an ability to be analytical and self-critical rather than merely descriptive; it should also demonstrate evidence of research appropriate to the focus of the course.
Presentations - Class Solo presentation in Week 9: 15%
