This course offers a basic introduction to the craft of the actor with particular emphasis upon the creation of performance from text based sources.
The aims of the course are to provide students with:
1. An introduction to text analysis and character building.
2. The techniques required to develop inter-personal skills in communication.
3. An understanding of the basic modes of impersonation within a collaborative context.
Basic acting techniques and character work.
Exercises intended to develop the relaxation demanded of a performer on stage
Elementary character development
Playing objectives based on textual analysis.
DRAM2700 Acting 1
Students who have successfully completed DRAM2700 Acting 1 may not enrol into CAPA2700 Acting 1.
Successful completion of DRAM1010 and DRAM1020. Concurrent assumed knowledge: 1 course drawn from DRAM2210-2240.
