Primary Drama in Action
This course aims to provide students with skills to organise and implement drama within the K-6 context. It provides a practical and theoretical understanding of the elements of drama and the dramatic forms which allow children to make, perform and appreciate creative works of drama.

1. To develop an understanding of the elements of Drama relevant to the context of working with primary aged children.
2. To develop understanding of the Dramatic forms and application of these forms to develop pedagogy for educating children about Drama.
3. The develop the skills necessary to create, deliver and manage quality lessons and lesson sequences, in the subject of Drama, for children aged 6-12.
This course will examine the dramatic elements of contrast, symbol, dramatic tension, space, time, focus and mood, while developing best practices for teaching children to playbuild, improvise, mime, move, tell stories, explore puppetry and use masks.
This course has similarities to DRAM2301. If you have successfully completed DRAM2301 you cannot enrol in this course.
