This course examines issues affecting the contemporary sports management environment. It investigates sports management at a macro, industry and organisational level. The course highlights a number of the critical aspects that entrepreneurs in sport need to understand before entering into the competitive sports business domain.
| Objectives | The objectives of this course are to ensure that students can: 1. Identify key issues in the development of sports management 2. Identify key issues for non-profit and professional sporting organisations 3. Prepare business strategies and a business plan for a sporting organisation 4. Evaluate key issues in the marketing of sporting organisations 5. Identify and understand critical issues related to managing a sports organisation 6. Evaluate governance and performance issues for sporting organisations |

| Content | The course investigates current management issues for sporting organisations and applies a multi-disciplinary focus, including organisational behaviour, human resources management, finance and marketing.
