Covers advanced biostatistical methods commonly used such as categorical data analysis and survival analysis. Provides students with experience, rather than theory, as the course is very applied utilising numerous examples, and practical exercises, and with assignments using real data.
| Objectives |
To provide students with the understanding and skills to undertake high level statistical analysis of categorical and survival data. |
| Content |
The course has two components - categorical data analysis and survival analysis. Categorical data analysis will include a log-linear models for dichotomous and multinomial data, paired and matched data and repeated measures analysis. The survival analysis component covers introduction to censoring, truncation, survival and hazard functions, Cox proportional hazards regression, Weibull and other parametric models, time dependent models, accelerated failure time models, repeated measures, competing risks, informative censoring and sample size. |
