In this course students may choose to submit a written project analysing past community based productions, OR contribute to the staging of a play or event which gives voice to a specific marginalised community.

Objectives After the successful completion of this course, students should be able to demonstrate:

. A firm political stance which affirms the voices of various marginalised groups
. The skills required to analyse and critique past community based productions
. Knowledge and skills required to stage a community based production within the local
region and elsewhere
. Skills in writing critique within the performing arts
Content . Postmodern and feminist research applications in drama and other arts
. History of community productions in Australia and overseas
. Workshop strategies for working with specific groups
. Planning for community performance
. Skills in writing critique within the arts
