Students undertake a supervised individual research project, culminating in the production of a final research report.
Students will identify an issue within their own context and develop research findings, which would support the community, and its built environment post disaster.

Objectives On completion of this course students should be able to:
• Evaluate research strategies and justify a selected method for inquiry
• Conduct a literature search for a research topic; describe and discuss the literature and relate a real world problem to a research problem
• Critically analyse data to construct a logical and creative response to a research problem in the form of a research model or an interpretive investigative framework
• Write a cohesive price of research thesis/dissertation.

Essays / Written Assignments • A written research proposal and an oral presentation.

• Activities Assignment - Completion of a set of activities associated with the research process including establishment of a program of study to manage own research project and ethics statement.

• A research dissertation: Written assignment documenting rationale, research problem definition, literature analysis, conceptual model and/or interpretive framework, research question, assumptions, proposition/hypothesis, methodology, methods and techniques, limitations, results, discussion and conclusion.
