This course explores the principles and practice relating to maintenance and rehabilitation work in built environment. These topics will be explored from multiple perspectives including the context of technology, standards, statutory control, planning and implementation, procurement cost and environmental impact.

Objectives On completion of this course students should be able to:
- Identify scope of rehabilitation work for dilapidated/obsolete buildings.
- Identify and apply appropriate structural and construction technologies to rectify maintenance problems.
- Prepare short and long term maintenance plans.
- Identify/apply appropriate standards and statutory controls for maintenance and rehabilitation work.
