This course is offered as an elective to students in the fields of 2-D Art (Painint, Printmaking or Drawing), 3-D Art (Ceramics or Fibres/Textiles or Scuplture)and Photomedia Art (Traditional or Digital).
To facilitate access to workplace conditions through either off campus placement, on campus specialised media study and research. The study is self initiated and directed by the student in consultation with their supervisor. The process of concept development will be explored through related technical and aesthetic research associated with industrial and commercial environments. Students may utilise on campus facilities to gain intensive work experience in specialised, technical and theoretical aspects of studio areas.
Internal mode of delivery:- Self directed by student based on a written proposal (Textile education students will complete a major technology project).
| Objectives | 1. To encourage an individual directed study in areas of special interest not normally covered in generic or elective subjects. (Textile education students will complete a study involving the completion of a HSC based textiles project and folio). 2. To assist the student to structure a workable program of research and professional practice; 3. To encourage independent research and planning including experimentation, analysis and evaluation; 4. To encourage a creative, experimental approach to working practice; 5. To develop the ability to articulate ideas and concepts us ing a range of communication techniques including visual, verbal and written. |
