Provides foundation studies and creative experiences in visual arts, drama and music for early childhood teacher education students. Provides students with an understanding, knowledge and appreciation of skills, experiences, processes and outcomes in the creative arts.

Objectives Students will:
1. demonstrate understandings of the concepts and skills involved in strands of the creative arts
2. demonstrate understandings of the relevance and significance of the creative arts in a changing society, focusing on traditional and contemporary Australian culture
3. demonstrate personal expression and enjoyment, creative action, imaginative and emotional response, aesthetic understandings and the creation of shared meanings in the creative arts
4. demonstrate understanding of the function and role of creative arts in the expression and development of social and cultural values
5. make and appreciate their own creative work and the work of others
Content . The making and appreciating of the subject matter and forms of visual arts;
. The performing, organising of sound,listening and experiencing the concepts of music within a wide range of musical repertoire;
. Creating, performing and appreciating by engaging in the contexts and forms of drama;
. The importance of the interrelationship and integration of the strands of creative arts.
