Workshop venue

The University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) is located close to the centre of Sydney, with many nearby hotels, of which those listed below are merely a representative sample. UTS is a 10-minute walk from Central Railway Station. All Sydney rail lines pass through Central.

Walking in the UTS precinct is safe during daylight. At night, occasional bag snatching and similar street crime does occur, as it can in almost any city. People walking in small groups at night are safe.

Accommodation

This is the first time that ICER has been held "down under", and it is very unclear how many people will travel from other countries to attend. Our first strong indication of numbers will be when the list of accepted papers is known. Therefore, until that list is known, ICER will will not attempt to negotiate a special conference rate with any one hotel.

The following information about hotels, all of them close to the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS), is for the benefit of anyone who feels a need to reserve a hotel room before ICER negotiates with a hotel. The listing of a hotel on this web page is not an endorsement of the quality of the hotel.

All room prices shown are in Australian dollars and include all state and federal taxes. These room rates are merely taken from the web sites of the respective hotels. A less expensive rate for any of these hotels may be available by either (1) reserving your room through your travel agent when purchasing your flight, or (2) telephoning the hotel directly.
