Welcome Reception

The Welcome Reception will be held on Thursday evening 1 December, 2005
at Birabahn from 6.00 pm - 7.30 pm.

The opening address and welcome at 6:45 by The Chancellor, Professor Trevor Waring
will be followed by a performance by an Aboriginal Dance Group (Ray Kelly).

Conference Dinner

The Conference Dinner will be held on Friday 2 December, 2005 6.30 pm for 7:00 pm til late at Noahs on the Beach, Newcastle cnr Shortland Esplanade & Zaara Street, Newcastle East.

Located overlooking Newcastle Beach, Noahs on the Beach is one of Newcastle's prestige venues. The chef has prepared a special meal for the delegates of APEIC 2005.

Our after dinner speaker is Ray Watterson, Associate Professor in the Faculty of Business of Law, University of Newcastle, and the University of Newcastle Legal Centre. Ray's work with the Legal Centre has most recently involved a submission to the Palmer Inquiry, which is investigating Cornelia Rau's detention at the Baxter Detention Centre.
