Advances in architecture, engineering and construction are fundamentally reliant on developments in science and technology. Whether these advances are in the environmental sustainability of a building, in its design theory, or in the education of future researchers, science remains a critical component of the built environment.
- Science drives innovation; the creation of new ways of understanding materials, processing data, monitoring energy use and increasing efficiency.
- Science provides inspiration for design, for computational methods, form generation, theory development and new forms of inhabitation.
- Science supports instruction and pedagogy; it assists in improving approaches to teaching and learning.
