Previous tours
The choir has toured internationally numerous times and has
recently returned from a tour performing in a number of churches throughout the
UK, including in such iconic locations as St Paul's Cathedral in London, St
John's and King's College Chapel in Cambridge and the Merton College Chapel in
Oxford.
The 2012 tour of the USA and Bermuda saw the choir named amongst the best of the best following a stellar result at the World Choir Games in Cincinnatti, USA. In the hotly contested Champions' Division the 40-strong choir battled against the world's most decorated choral outfits to earn competition medals in the Contemporary, Mixed Choir and Religious Music categories. These great results saw Echology climb two spots to sixth place in the overall world choral rankings in the Chamber Choir category.
In July 2010 the Choir was proud to represent the University of Newcastle and the City of Newcastle during its tour of the People's Republic of China that included performances at the Beijing Institute of Technology, Huazhong Normal University (Wuhan), the East China University of Science & Technology (Shanghai), and the Australian Embassy in Beijing. Echology were privileged to perform for an invited audience at Beijing's National Millennium Monument and in Shanghai with the Choir of the Pudong New Area District Government and the ECUST choir.
During the 2004 South Korean tour the Choir was hosted by five Universities and performed to some of its largest and most exuberant audiences at concerts and church services across the region.
The Choir has performed in St Paul's Cathedral, London, on many occasions, and has also performed in Westminster Abbey, Canterbury Cathedral, Winchester Cathedral, Liverpool Cathedral, Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral, Chelmsford Cathedral, Temple Church, London, St Alban's Abbey, St Asaph Cathedral, Wales, and the Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris. The Choir has undertaken twelve live broadcasts for BBC Radio and recorded two programs for BBC's Sunday Half-Hour.
Nationally the Choir has toured to Brisbane, Canberra, Singleton, Tamworth, Sydney, Goulburn, Armidale, Grafton and Port Macquarie.
