Engaging China Project

Young people igniting the idea of China in Australian high schools

The Engaging China Project (ECP) is a new national, youth-driven, China-literacy initiative of the Australia-China Youth Association (ACYA) . The aim is to ignite China the hearts and minds of Australian high school students by imparting real-world experience and stories of our team of young China Ambassadors.

The ECP introduces a network of China-literate university students and young professionals aged 20 to 35 into classrooms to share their experiences in China with high school students. The ECP Ambassadors provide highly relevant context to the opportunities and realities that China offers young people. They tell students real stories about what it's like to start the China adventure. They demystify China and make it 'cool' for young people who will live through the Asian Century and even shape the twenty second century.

The Confucius Institute is a proud sponsor and partner of the Engaging China Project and the Australian-China Youth Association. We actively work with the ECP and the ACYA to deepen the Australia-China relationship, particularly for the next generation of young Australians.
