Educator's Tour to China
If you are thinking of introducing Chinese language into your school, then our annual sponsored Educators' Tour to China may be for you.
This cultural and educational visit to China for school principals, deputy principals, and senior educators is organised every year by the Confucius Institute. Sponsored by Hanban, the Office of Chinese Language Council International, China, the tour provides school leaders from our region a first-hand experience of Chinese culture, history and language.
We encourage school principals to come and join this cultural and educational tour with us and bring their own experiences in China back to our young generation.
The tour provides an opportunity for School principals to gain first-hand experience of Chinese culture and contemporary Chinese society.
The 2013 Educators' Tour to China will depart Sydney on Friday 20 September and return Thursday 3 October.
The 14-day tour includes visiting local schools and universities, seminars on Chinese culture, meetings with Chinese school officials. There will be opportunities for sight seeing and visits to cultural heritage sites in Beijing and Wuhan, the home of our partner university – Central China Normal University. Situated at the crossroads of central China on the Yangtze River, Wuhan is the capital of Hubei Province and one of the fast growing 'second tier' cities in China. In Beijing, capital of the People's Republic of China, you will visit the Forbidden Palace, the Chinese National Museum, the Great Wall, and the Summer Palace, etc.
Principals, deputy principals, or senior educators from NSW schools currently offering, or planning to offer, Chinese language in the school curriculum are eligible to apply.
