Lunchtime Chinese

Get a taste for Chinese. Courses are specifically designed for UoN staff and students. Suit absolute beginners.

This 10-hour course is suitable for complete beginners and aims to equip students with a very basic grounding in spoken Chinese. The content covers personal information, communication for survival, daily life, social activities, etc., focusing on satisfying the basic needs for communication in daily life.

Students who wish to continue to learn Chinese may take Chinese 101 as a preparatory course for the Beginner's level Chinese courses offered by the Confucius Institute.

This 10-hour course is suitable for students who have completed Chinese 101. The skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing will be taught through an integrated communicative approach. The focus is on further developing listening and speaking skills.

Students who wish to continue to learn Chinese after Chinese 102 can take Chinese Beginners 2 course.

Practise Tai Chi

Want to reduce your stress, improve your fitness, and enhance your overall wellbeing? The slow controlled movements of Tai Chi will invigorate your body and soul.

Tai Chi is a form of 'moving meditation' that is both a health-promoting exercise and an incredible stress reliever. Tai Chi is for both body and mind. It will reduce your stress, improve your fitness, and enhance your overall well-being.

In the Tai Chi 1 course, you will learn the 24-Form Tai Chi. It's a beginners' class, and everyone is welcome.
