The University of Newcastle (UON) is proud to be recognised as one of the top 250 universities in the world in the fiercely contested QS World University Rankings.
We’ve consistently improved our global standings in the QS World University Rankings, rising more than 50 places in the last three years. UON currently has 6 subjects ranked in the top 100 in the world, confirmed by the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2017.
The QS World University Rankings assesses more than 4,300 institutions worldwide and is made up of six indicators to measure a university’s performance, including employer reputation. Annual surveys are undertaken with employers to help identify universities who are best at delivering workplace-ready graduates. Last year there were over 37,000 employer survey responses from around the world.
UON prepares our students for career success. 95% of our degrees offer work-integrated learning opportunities, ensuring our graduates are highly competitive, armed with real-world experience to demonstrate to potential employers. Our graduate employment rate is as high as 100% in some fields, with 70% of all graduates in full-time employment within four months of completing their degree (Australian Graduate Survey, 2015).
