Past Scholars

Professor Joanna Bourke, Birkbeck College, University of London. The Group hosted a three day visit, 20-22 March 2002, by the distinguished author of a large number of publications relating to war, most notably: Dismembering the Male (1999), An Intimate History of Killing (1999), The Second World War: A People's History (2001). Professor Bourke gave two presentations during her visit:
- "Killing: Representations of Violence and the Body at War"
- "Historians and the Emotions of War"
