The Faculty of Education & Arts has a commitment to high quality Research and Research Training across the wide range of fields of study encompassed by the eight Schools of the Faculty.
The Faculty supports 22 research groups including six formally-established Research Centres. To assist in enhancing further our overall research activity and funding, the Faculty has also created a Research Development Unit (RDEA).
The RDEA Unit was established in 2003 to achieve the following:
-
to encourage and promote research and creative activity across all eight Schools of the Faculty
-
to strengthen research collaborations
-
to provide advice on and facilitate research funding arrangements; and
-
to recognise outstanding contributions to research.
The unit consists of three distinguished senior academics who work on a part-time basis as Research Development Managers;
Associate Professor Allyson Holbrook
Associate Professor David Lemmings
Dr. Deborah Stevenson
The Research Development Managers are invited members of the Research and Research Training Committee, and play a role with the Research and Research Training Convenors in setting policy, evaluating grant and scholarship applications and on the publications audit.
The Unit is managed on a full-time basis by the Faculty Reseach and Research Training Officer, Linda Hutchinson.
The Unit is under the Supervision of the Assistant Dean Research and Research Training, Professor Sid Bourke.
