Encouraging greater male participation in the educational lives of boys and girls is a challenge facing all schools today. Both boys and girls benefit emotionally, socially and educationally from the active involvement of a father figure in their lives. Recent project work and research from the Engaging Fathers project at the Family Action Centre has developed a model of best practice which has been shown to increase the level of father and father-figure involvement in schools.
