What Can We Do? Communities responding to violenceThe Caravan Project is collaborating with other staff from the Family Action Centre on a project called What can we do? Communities responding to violence. Funded by the Australian Government's Domestic and Family Violence and Sexual Assault Initiative (through the Office for Women), it is an action-research project encouraging people to respond appropriately when they are aware of violence happening in the homes of people around them. We are exploring what people can do to reduce or stop the violence without putting themselves in danger or making it worse for the people directly involved. Based on our discussions we will then produce three resources (e.g. posters, leaflets, key rings) to promote awareness of what can be done to stop or reduce the impact of violence in the home. This project is focusing on both caravan park communities and Indigenous communities. |
