Stories of Success

At present, the main focus of our action research is the question "How do people live successfully on caravan parks?" Not only are we considering this question in our work on the park, we are also conducting a research project, "Stories of Success".

The research involves in-depth interviews with 10-15 residents who moved onto a park because they had few or no other options. The aim of the study is to identify ways in which life on parks can be improved for people living there as a last resort.

The research aimed to identify:

• factors that contribute to caravan parks being a positive housing option for residents who move in as a last resort

• ways in which caravan parks can contribute to pathways out of homelessness

• ways to improve support provided by community and health services.
