Craig 'Bourkie' Hammond grew up in Moree in the Aboriginal community which, he says, gave him a sense of belonging and allowed him to develop skills in doing things the 'blackfella' way. Craig worked for many years with young people as a youth worker in Awabakal Newcastle Co-op. In this role he developed programs suited to the youth of today to deal with issues such as suicide awareness, recreation, culture camps, drugs and alcohol. For the past four years Craig has worked as part of the Engaging Fathers project.
