ABCD trainers in NZ August 2006ABCD in New Zealand

ABCD is really taking off in New Zealand. Among its many adherants is David A Wilson of Heritage Futures. (That's David on the right of the picture. On the left is Jim Diers and, in the middle, Peter Kenyon of WA's Bank of IDEAS.) Working from local to international level for over two decades, David is one of New Zealand’s leading motivational facilitators empowering communities and organisations to utilise their past in the foundations of their future.

The central theme of his work is that the identification and creative use of the important aspects of heritage are social, environmental and economic forces to be reckoned with, and that through innovation, entrepreneurship and strong local leadership, communities and economies can survive and prosper amidst these rapidly changing times.

You can email David, or visit the Heritage Futures website.

ABCD NZ trainees August 2006Workshops were recently held on both North and South Island (see a copy of the registration form). New Zealand facilitators at the ABCD Workshops held in Hutt City and Christchurch in August 2007 were unanimous in their support to join the new Oceania ABCD Network. The workshops were run by Peter Kenyon of IDEAS Western Australia and Jim Diers of Seattle USA.

Participants attended from across New Zealand and represented rural and remote communities, Maori, Pacific Peoples, youth and family, universities and central and local government agencies. Participant feed back was extremely positive about the workshop content and level of professional delivery. Further workshops will be held in 2008.
