Support for Students

Yapug is based in the Birabahn Building on the Callaghan campus. A lecturer and administrative assistant are employed in the program to support Yapug students. There are also a number of computers and other resources available for use by students.

http://www.newcastle.edu.au/school/aborig-studies/about/ also provides a special place for the support of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students on campus. The Centre boasts a common room, library and computer room for student use.

All Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students enrolled at the University of Newcastle are eligible for tutorial assistance under the Aboriginal Tutorial Assistance Scheme (ATAS). Check with your local Centrelink office for your eligibility for Abstudy.
