Newstep: Who can apply?

Newstep has been designed for students aged from 17 to 20 years, who are Australian citizens or who have Australian permanent residency status, and who have not qualified for undergraduate entry on the basis of their senior school studies.

Criteria for Admission:

1. Non-completion of Year 12 studies because of a major disadvantage during senior schooling; or

2. Completion of Year 12 studies.

Applicants who have not completed Year 12 will be assessed for admision based on documentary evidence that they meet the equity criteria or have experienced major disadvantage during senior schooling.
