The University of Newcastle, Australia, offers the Advanced Entry Program (AEP), a one-term accelerated foundation program for students who have completed the Hong Kong 'A' levels and achieved a minimum of two (2) passes. AEP offers these students an alternate pathway into University and provides them with English language support throughout their Foundation program.
Students who successfully complete the AEP and reach the required average mark are eligible for entry into their preferred undergraduate program in March 2009. Students should note that some programs in the Faculty of Health may not be available through AEP due to international student number quotas. Students wishing to study Medicine must take a full Foundation program commencing in March each year to satisfy the timeline for the interview component of assessment for this degree.
The program commences with five (5) weeks of intensive English language instruction followed by the Summer Term of the International Foundation. AEP students will study English for Tertiary Studies II, plus three (3) subjects relevant to their nominated undergraduate degree.
For details of the program including program outline, course choices and average marks required for undergraduate degree entry, please refer to the International Foundation Prospectus or online at http://www.newcastle.edu.au/centre/elfsc/international/
