About CBSPT

The Centre for Bulk Solids & Particulate Technologies was established in 1995 as one of a prestigious handful of national Key centres of teaching and research. The Centre is a collaborative initiative between the University of Newcastle and the University of Wollongong. It unifies two strong streams of expertise in bulk solids handling and particulate technologies developed over a period of more than 30 years.

The Centre continues its research through research grants from such bodies as the Australian Research Council and Industry, the centre currently has several Post Graduate Research students.

The Centre is actively involved in both fundamental and applied research on a range of problems associated with bulk solids & particulate technology.  The research areas include storage, flow, processing and transportation of bulk solids.  The Centre is responsible for teaching and provides specialist course for industry through its professional development programs.

The Centre's Newcastle Node is strongly linked with TUNRA Bulk Solids Handling Research Associates and The Faculty of Engineering & Built Environment at the University of Newcastle.
