Professor John Aitken receiving the ST Huang-Chan Memorial Medal from the Head of the Anatomy Department from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Hong Kong in 2005.

- Jamsai, D. (2005) The National Research Council of Thailand PhD Thesis Award. Awarded on February 2, 2005. The prize recognises the best PhD thesis in the field of Medical Science by a Thai citizen worldwide.
- Jamsai, D. (2005) Mahidol University Distinguished Thesis Awards 2004 (Honorable mention). Awarded on January 31, 2005. The prize recognises the best PhD thesis in the field of Health Science for Mahidol University academic year 2004.
- Koopman, P. (2005) President's Medal, Australian and New Zealand Society for Cell and Developmental Biology.
- Jans, D. (2005) The GE Healthcare Bio-Sciences Award. This award is presented by the Australian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology to an Australian scientist for distinguished contributions to this field. The award includes a medal that will be presented at ComBio 2005 meeting in Adelaide on September 25-29th, 2005.
- Baker, M. (2005) Postgraduate Trainee Merit Award and the Lalor International Travel Award from the American Society of Andrology. This award was presented at the American Society of Andrology Meeting, 2-5 April 2005, Seattle, USA .
