Society and Health Lecture

Cheryl Kernot, Director of Social Business, former leader of the Australian Democrats, Member for Dickson and Labor Shadow Minister, delivered the 2012 Society & Health Lecture on Tuesday 14 August at Newcastle City Hall.

The lecture highlighted the failure of the free market to provide fair access to the planet's basic resources such as water and energy and to services such as health care, affordable housing and education has been a call to arms for a new breed of entrepreneurs who harness business knowledge and skills for social purpose, not for the profit of private shareholders.
