Launch of the Hunter Alumni Chapter
About 200 University of Newcastle graduates gathered at City Hall on Thursday 6 December to celebrate the launch of a new chapter in the global alumni network.
They exchanged notes on their campus and career experiences at the inaugural meeting of the Hunter Alumni Chapter.
Comedian and Bachelor of Arts graduate Mikey Robbins was master of ceremonies, delivering many an anecdote from his time at university in the 1980s.
Our special thanks to Alumni Advisory Committee president Brian Kennaugh, University of Newcastle vice-chancellor Caroline McMillen, graduates and guest speakers Kristen Keegan and Michael Hagan.

Q - What is Alumni?
A - Alumni is a group of graduates from a school or University.
Q - I haven't been involved with the University since I graduated, many years ago - what do I need to do to become part of Alumni?
A - As a graduate of the University, you are a graduate for life. You are automatically part of the global alumni network.
Q - How much will it cost be part of Alumni?
A - There are no memberships to pay. No forms to fill. All you have to do is keep your contact details up to date to receive the complimentary Alumni magazine and invitations to events in your area.
Q - Why are you forming a Hunter Alumni Chapter?
A - We have chapters across Australia (Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney) and across the globe.
This is an opportunity to form an Alumni chapter in our backyard.
Q - What is the purpose of a chapter?
A - It is an opportunity to bring together graduates of the University. It enables alumni to engage with the University, with each other and work together to shape communities.
