Alumni Advisory Committee
(formerly known as the Executive Committee of Alumni)

The Alumni Advisory Committee is a legal body established under provisions of the University of Newcastle Act.  It is a group of graduates elected by their peers to represent the alumni community. 

All graduates of the University of Newcastle can stand for election to this committee annually in October, at the Annual General Meeting.

Functions & Role of the Committee

A) ADVISORY ROLE TO UNIVERSITY COUNCIL

The committee has an advisory role to the University Council on all matters relevant to Alumni and partners with the Alumni Relations office to support Alumni development.

B) UNIVERSITY OF NEWCASTLE ALUMNI AWARDS

Each year the committee present Alumni Awards to recognise professional excellence, innovation, creativity and exceptional leadership; and those who inspire others in a range of fields through their local, national or international service.

The awards are open to all alumni of the University of Newcastle and are administered by the Executive Committee of Alumni. Nominations for the 2012 Alumni Awards are now open.

C) ALUMNI ADVANTAGE PROGRAM

The Alumni Advantage Program is a professional development program for students and graduates of the University of Newcastle. The program is the initiative of the Executive Committee of Alumni - a group of graduates elected to represent the University Alumni community.
