China (Beijing) Alumni Chapter - (Commencing)

In 2007, a group of graduates gathered in Beijing for an event with senior University staff. This same group is now forming a Committee under the leadership of Ms Amy Jia (Master of Marketing: 2004), who is acting as Protem President.

Amy and the Beijing Alumni have organised a number of social events, and if you would like to be part of the inaugural committee please contact Amy by email: amyjia@vip.sina.com. To be included in planned events by the Alumni Chapter in Beijing, which would include events hosted by the University when staff visit, be sure to keep your contact details up to date.

In June 2008 the Chapter hosted 40 current communications students from Newcastle who went to work as 'flash quote' reporters at the Olympics, at a lunch and visit to the Drum and Bell Towers. This event was organised by the Australian China Alumni Association (ACAA) on behalf of the University.

The University of Newcastle was the founding partner in 2007 with the Australia China Alumni Association (ACAA) who provides networking opportunities and events for all graduates of all Australian Universities in China. We encourage you to become members and get involved with these events also. They are active in both Beijing and Shanghai.
