Alumni Chapters
Australia
International
'Chapter' is the name used to describe a group of Alumni which has formed, and have registered with the Alumni Office as part of the University's global Alumni Network.
Alumni chapters can be organised in a range of ways, and for a variety of reasons. For example;
- Geographical or location based (e.g. Brisbane, Beijing etc)
- Discipline based ( e.g. Pharmacy, Law, Medicine, etc)
- Special Interest (e.g. History Lovers, Sports, Grad School, a Residential College etc)
Chapters have a range of options open to them, which include but are not limited to the following:
- Getting together at a specific time and place.
- Creating an 'online' chapter.
- Registering with Government and having a Constitution (e.g. Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore etc).
- Hosting events - these can be social, professional community service, fund-raising etc.
- Setting up Chapter Awards to recognise achievements of Alumni, or a scholarship for students.
- Establishing strong links with the Executive Committee of Alumni.
- Meeting with Senior Managers and Academics travelling from the University.
Services and opportunities for Chapters can be discussed with the Alumni Office.
Alumni are able to be involved in many different Chapters according to their location or specific area of interest, or their travel. In this way, links between academic areas, friends or aspects of University life can be maintained as preferred. Some Alumni Chapters will charge membership fees to facilitate some of their development aspirations.
Regional Coordinator
Where a Chapter has not yet formed, an individual graduate can contact the Alumni Office to be a representative for their area. The Office will work with the person to locate other Alumni in the area, and may list that person as the Regional Coordinator and contact person. He/she would work with the Office to form the inaugural working group.
The ideas of our alumni are unlimited, so please do contact us if you wish to discuss possibilities you may have thought of related to Alumni development.
Please note, to be included in invite lists in any location, you must keep your contact details current.
