Indigenous excellence
We are a university of excellence for Indigenous employment, education and research.
We have the highest number of Indigenous staff of any university in Australia. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people currently make up 2.8 per cent of our staff. Our Indigenous Employment Strategy Nauwai (PDF 298KB) focuses on attracting quality applications for academic and professional positions at all levels across the University. We provide an internal environment that promotes professional and personal growth for Indigenous staff and develop strong collaboration with relevant community organisations.
We are also the only university in New South Wales to have a campus-wide approach to reconciliation with our Reconciliation Action Plan 2011-2015 (PDF 940KB).
