About our School

Welcome to the School of Design, Communication and Information Technology. We bring together a range of disciplines across communication, design, information technology and natural history illustration that are at the forefront of today's interconnected world.

Our subject area of information technology has been ranked within the top 200 in the 2014 QS World Subject Rankings. A recent report from the Australian Bureau of Statistics also indicates that Australians with university level qualifications in technology have one of the best career perspectives nationwide.

Due to the growing industry demand for graduates who are able to converge creativity and technology, the School has developed relevant coursework and attracted some of the best industry experts and internationally recognised academics to impart their knowledge and skillset.

Our students have the opportunity to develop their qualifications at a number of levels through the undergraduate, postgraduate coursework and Research Higher Degree programs we offer.

We have invested in purpose-built studios equipped with the latest industry specific software and equipment to help our students graduate job-ready. Our students have exposure to a diverse range of courses covering areas such as games design, visual programming, music video production, 3D animation, website design, television and video production and sound recording.

Our teaching and research emphasises the multidisciplinary nature of these areas and our connections with industry ensure the programs we offer have real-world applications.

On behalf of my colleagues, I welcome you to the School of Design, Communication and Information Technology and look forward to helping you achieve success in your chosen field of study.
