School of Architecture and the Built Environment
The School of Architecture and Built Environment has an international reputation for pioneering problem-based, research-led and online learning in its programs. The School provides unique learning environments, both online and on campus; our students are part of a dynamic and professional community of exceptional scholars, researchers and practitioners.
We give our students the tools and practical knowledge to become creative, innovative, well trained graduates, fully equipped to turn visions into reality. Our degrees are all accredited by their respective peak national professional bodies and our graduates are highly sought after.
Our architecture students have access to the best design minds in the country. Our architects in residence, Lawrence Nield, Kerry and Lindsay Clare, Peter Stutchbury and Richard Leplastrier, are fully involved in design teaching at all levels in the school.
Professor Peter Davis took up the role of Chair of Construction Management in early 2014. He has equal experience in terms of time in industry and academic research/teaching, and his industry experience provides a leadership focus on construction management, estimating and administering significant projects.
Our facilities are considered to be among the finest in Australia providing 24-hour access for students to the Architectural Design Studio, state-of-the-art Design Workshop and Digital Design Studio.
Over the past four years, our architecture students have won the RAIA NSW Design Medal three times and received three commendations. In 2013, they took out the Medal, a Commendation and the Undergraduate Prize.
Our construction management students have the option of taking their degree entirely online. Graduates of this program are in demand – in 2010, 96% of our completing students were employed on graduation.
