Pro Vice-Chancellor Learning and Teaching
The Pro Vice-Chancellor Learning and Teaching is responsible for delivering a transformed learning and teaching experience at the University. The Pro Vice-Chancellor Learning and Teaching leads four units including:
- Learning Design and Teaching Innovation
- Pathways and Academic Learning Support
- Quality Enhancement
- Employability and Enterprise
These units within Learning and Teaching are collectively responsible for supporting elements across the entire student journey, from enabling through to graduation, providing access to opportunities to develop career readiness and employability.

Student Central
Student Central supports and enables the education experience at the University and connect students to the support and services they need through a streamlined approach to administrative processes and a range of student engagement initiatives. Student Central comprises the following units:
- Student and Academic Administration
- Student Engagement
- Student Wellbeing
- Campus Care and Resolution Centre
- Chaplains
These units are collectively responsible for supporting the student journey and enriching the campus experience through creating a sense of belonging for students.

Regional Campuses
The Dean of Regional Campuses supports the coordination of the University's campuses and has oversight of the strategic developments of regional campuses outside of Newcastle.
University Library
The University's libraries are innovative and accessible and are home to vibrant spaces where students want to engage. They are welcoming and include places to eat, study and learn. They provide access to resources online, in person, and through domestic and international affiliate libraries. Students are supported with library and research skills programs and access to subject librarians. This unit also incorporates the University Gallery which enhances the learning and teaching experience of contemporary art, design and related disciplines. The Gallery presents and promotes the work of our students and graduates. They also present curated exhibitions and touring shows that are relevant to the wider University and Hunter community.

The Wollotuka Institute
Wollotuka is committed to the advancement and leadership of Indigenous education at a local, national and global level. It also continues to draw strength from culture, communities and past journeys.
Since 1983, Wollotuka has played an important role in representing and supporting Indigenous Australians studying at university. Through its work, Wollotuka and the University of Newcastle more broadly are regarded as leaders in Indigenous education in Australia.
