Library catalogues contain records for the material held in a library. The Library holdings refer to the total collection of resources owned by the Library.

Physical resources can be books, journals, pamphlets, sound recordings, videos, microform, etc. Electronic, or online resources include journal databases, electronic books, images, etc. Regardless of the format, items will have a searchable record in the Library catalogue.

What can't you find in the Library catalogue?

You can't search for journal articles in the Library catalogue.

The articles contained within journals and magazines can be searched via library databases. To find journal articles you will need to be search journal databases.
