Evaluating Internet resources
Internet resources can also be useful sources
of information for assignments. But, as is the case with other sources
of information, you must employ rigorous evaluation.
- There is much more information available
on the Internet today than a few years ago.
- The information explosion places more responsibility
upon the reader to critically evaluate resources. The need for
evaluation is even more critical because almost anyone can place
information there without being monitored for quality or accuracy.
The quality of information on the Internet is extremely variable
and difficult to assess. Therefore, it is important to use the same
critical evaluative skills in looking at information on the
Internet that you would use when evaluating a book or journal article.
